Why Use Our PSD to JPG Converter?
Smaller File Sizes
JPG's lossy compression produces files that are typically 5–10× smaller than equivalent PNGs — perfect for web pages that need to load fast.
Secure & Private
Your PSD files are processed entirely in your browser. No data is uploaded to any server. Your designs stay on your device.
Ideal for Photos
JPG is the web standard for photographic content. Rich gradients, skin tones, and detailed imagery all compress beautifully in JPEG.
Adjustable Quality
Use the Advanced Settings panel to control output quality (10–100%) and find the sweet spot between file size and visual fidelity.
Batch Conversion
Convert multiple PSD files to JPG at once. Drag a folder or select multiple files — our tool handles them all simultaneously.
Free Forever
No account required, no subscriptions, no file size limits. Convert PSD to JPG free as many times as you need.
PSD vs. JPG: What's the Difference?
PSD (Photoshop Document) is Adobe's native layered file format — rich with editable layers, masks, adjustment layers, and smart objects. It's the format designers work in, but it's not compatible with web browsers or most image viewers.
JPG (JPEG) is a lossy raster format designed for photographic images. It achieves small file sizes by discarding image data that the human eye is least likely to notice. The trade-off: quality degrades slightly on each save, and JPG does not support transparency. Any transparent areas in your PSD will become white in the JPG output.
When should you choose JPG over PNG? If your PSD contains photographs, gradients, or complex blended artwork without transparent areas, JPG is typically the better web choice — the file will be much smaller with barely any visible quality difference. For logos, icons, or anything requiring a transparent background, use PSD to PNG or PSD to WebP instead.
Understanding JPG for Web Export
JPG is the most widely-used image format on the web. Here's what designers need to know before exporting.
Lossy Compression
JPG discards some image data to create smaller files. At quality settings above 80%, the loss is nearly invisible to the human eye.
- Smaller file size than PNG
- Quality slightly reduced on each re-save
- Ideal for photos and gradients
No Transparency Support
Unlike PNG and WebP, JPG cannot store transparent pixels. When converting a PSD with transparency, the background will be filled with white.
- No alpha channel support
- Transparent areas → white fill
- Use PNG or WebP for transparent output

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the PSD to JPG converter free?
Yes, 100% free with no limits on file size or quantity.
Does JPG support transparent backgrounds?
No. JPG does not support transparency. Any transparent areas in your PSD will be filled with a white background in the JPG output. If you need transparency, use our PSD to PNG or PSD to WebP converter instead.
Is JPG or PNG better for photos?
JPG is generally better for photographs because its lossy compression produces significantly smaller file sizes with minimal visible quality loss. PNG is better for graphics with sharp edges, text, or transparency.
Are my PSD files uploaded to a server?
No. All conversion happens locally in your browser using JavaScript. Your files never leave your device.
Can I convert multiple PSD files to JPG at once?
Yes. Drag and drop multiple PSD files into the upload area and they will all be converted to JPG simultaneously.
Can I control the JPG quality?
Yes. Open the Advanced Settings panel above the upload area to adjust the output quality slider (10–100%). Higher values produce larger files with better image quality.
